The 2010 Blizzard

 On Friday December 10th 2010 it started to snow.... and it snowed, and it snowed, and it just kept snowing....  and blowing.... We woke up on Saturday morning only to find that we could not even open our front door! HOLY SNOWBALLS! 17 and a half inches of snow in about 24 hours. The wind made 5 foot snow drifts and the plows just could not keep up with the snow. So all day Saturday was spent shoveling, trying to get our car out of the driveway so we could go get a burger... Ha!  by the time we got our car unburied it was 5:00pm and everything was closed including the liquor stores! yep closed on a Saturday night!!! Even the MOA  closed at 6 and they never close. The talk of the town was the Metrodome. All the weight of the snow ripped holes in the roof and the dome deflated... "much like the vikings season this year."
